Royal Bank of Canada

RBC is proud to continue our investment in and support for the city of Thompson and Indigenous communities coast to coast to coast. It is our purpose to help clients thrive and communities prosper and truth and reconciliation are core to a strong and vibrant Canada. Through our branch network and extensive network of advisors, RBC is dedicated to support the people, businesses and governments in our north.

Education is central to prosperity and so RBC employees across Canada are currently completing the ten modules of the “4 Seasons of Reconciliation” learning program – developed by First Nations University – and dedicated to educating on the history, present, and future potential of Indigenous peoples and the important role we all play in this journey. In the area of RBC Thought Leadership, this month we are launching a report on digital skills within Indigenous communities as well as launching our annual Chosen Journey: The Indigenous Partnership Report with this year’s publication telling stories that lean into themes of Indigenous entrepreneurs and innovation.

We continue to support events that bring Indigenous communities together such as Vision Quest while also supporting programs that provide access to health and well-being for remote Indigenous communities such as the University of Manitoba Rady Faculty of Health Sciences work experience program which hosts students, from the Rady Faculty’s five colleges, placed in inter-professional teams spending two weeks living and working on one of six Manitoba First Nations. We will continue to learn from the mistakes of the past and move forward in the spirit of partnership.
